It's the bus transfer, and the fact that the bus runs every 30-40 minutes. I try to minimize the amount of time I have to wait for the bus, after taking the train -- but sometimes I minimize too much and end up missing the bus by like 30 seconds to a minute. Sometimes that's because I didn't sleep enough the night before. The rest of the time it's the fact that I hate being early and like being exactly on time, which backfires in situations like these.

So, while some of it is because of the bus, it's almost entirely me. I should know better by now.

can't stand to stand. can't stand to sit.
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Fine try to improve society by not blaming others for your problems. I'd say it was noble but you just give me hope for the future and tomorrow it will be dashed by the media

Not quite a rant.. more like a sigh.
Old ESFJ friend (previously mistaken for INFP). Told her I was still around due to family stuff, & it'd be nice to see her/catch up.
"[insert her husband's name here] will be away for 2 weeks starting Sunday, so maybe we could get together then."

Her husband has hated me going on about 7yrs now. She's always had a bit of an inferiority complex, lived a REALLY sheltered life. Her bf-now-husband-father of her kids has his own issues, and is the sort of guy who, if he's driving/misses a turn, will snap at his gf/wife in the passenger seat/blame her. Just a tempermental douche with control issues & a compulsion to assign blame where none is warranted. Shit happens. Get on the next exit & turn around, man.

Anyway, a scenario like that^ happened a few years back. I was in the back seat when he'd snapped at her, blaming her for the missed turn, though we'd been riding in silence. She pointed out an alternate route we could still take & get to our destination in time, super easy - to which he shouted, 'SHUT THE FUCK UP.'

I don't like that behavior. At all. Especially not with my meek friend.
I made eye contact with him through the rearview mirror, held my gaze, & just said, very even-toned, "that was unnecessary."
And that's all. He sulked for the rest of our excursion.
(she actually thanked me for that, later)

After that, she was "forbidden" to talk to me, or see me.
We still corresponded via email/text, but it got patchy over the years.

I'd hoped he'd grown a bit since then, but from the sound of her recent email, it sounds like he hasn't.
    Lame.

He probably does that to himself enough, mentally. That's why he compensates so fucking hard.
    Blegh.
    *shakes head*

I've known her since I was 17. I actually stayed with her family for a little while after I'd left my ENFJ ex when I was a runaway, waiting to turn 18. They're sort of family to me. He can't keep me away, but at the same time, I don't want to make too many waves in their day-to-day life. She's the one who has to deal with his crap, not me. And I certainly can't make her leave. So yeah. Just have to see her when I can, I guess.
