Lol typically, that is true. But in this case it is good advice/what I already planned (not) to do.

Oh believe me, if we were both single, that'd be a done deal!

    Was that reverse psychology?

That can be arranged. For a price.

There's a couple (obviously made for each other), who's every other post on FB is to complain about stupid people. Maybe I should dedicate my wall to complaining about boring people who complain all of the time.

I tend to cull that herd pretty fast.

    Oh. My. God.

    This is a new one.

Student: I'm going to France for the summer, and I'm thinking about also going in the Fall. How many credits can I get done in the Fall?
Me: Have you applied for Fall?
    Student: No.
Me: Well, the application deadline was over a month ago. At this point, it is too late to apply.
Student: Okay... is there any way around that? Since I'm already going for the Summer?
Me: No. In fact, that complicates things, because you'd need to apply for a visa before you left for summer, and there's not time left.
Student: Well, can't I expedite my visa?
Me: No, the French government does not expedite visas, and it takes at least 6 weeks to get a visa.
Student: If I could get a visa in time, could I apply for the Fall program?
Me: No. We are no longer accepting applications for the Fall.
Student: But it's going to affect my graduation date, because I have to take the rest of my language classes in the Fall.
Me: Are you graduating at the end of Fall?
Student: No, but I have to take all my major requirements in the Spring, because I transferred here and had to take intro classes this Spring, and my major requirements are only offered in the Spring.
Me: Well... you could take your two remaining language courses concurrently in the Fall. It's a bit weird, but it's doable. And that way, you wouldn't be devoting an entire semester to language when you only need 10 credits.
Student: But I'll be learning French so much better when I'm immersed in it.
Me: That may be the case, but at this point it is too late to get into the Fall program.
Student: Well, is there someone else I could talk to? Do you have a manager I could speak to?
Me: No, I have the final say in this matter.
Student: Well, that's ridiculous. Whatever. Bye.

WHAT?? You didn't plan for your graduation around transferring, study abroad, AND you didn't think to apply for the Fall program until almost 2 months after the application deadline, and you think my denying you entry is ridiculous??

YOUR LACK OF PLANNING DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY ON MY PART!

Well... you have to admit a J never would have gotten herself into that situation to begin with!
