    *shudder* I HATE lagers!

I've always made Quintao (~ over the a that I can't figure out how to insert) every Christmas for my family- it's a spiced rum with ginger root, cloves and cinnamon that they served at all church functions in Brazil in the winter- absolutley delicious!

    Yeah... dogs rock

You know now I'm thinking of that pub in Lord of the Rings, the Prancing Pony, and wondering how anyone can doubt that beer is cozy!

Even when I just walk past a pub and smell the hoppy aroma coming out through the wall vents with the smell of steak, it makes me think of the many times I've settled down by the fire in a pub and spent a day and night in cheerful and warm company.

Oberon, you should come and stay with me, I'll show you some pubs alright

(I think that site I linked to will ship to the USA; try the Cumberland, it's my staple)

sorry I can't see most emoticons today on my computer!

and as long as it's not a corona with a lime I think that beer can be quite cozy!

(we're selling a lot of English Ales at work anymore for special more expensive beers for Christmas!)

Maybe it's just American beer that doesn't seem cozy to me.
I agree with you about the Pub.

Not to change the subject, but I'm going to the kitchen to make myself a hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream.

    sounds delicious!

and reminds me- hot chocolate with godiva liquor and frangelico!- beyond delicioius and so incredibly cozy!

and any mass produced American beer is NOT very cozy!

(there's some good microbreweries, but they're not available everywhere!)

There are words over here for American beer, but I fear INTJMom's profanity filter would render the rest of this explanation useless...

You Brits are snobs about your beer and your tea.

Subby would be "scandalised" to learn that the best beers I've ever drunk have all been American brews.

Not mass-market factory beers of course, but microbrews. They're as good (or close to as good) as the English beers start out, but they don't have to be shipped over an ocean for me to drink them.
