    Question WTF @ Distractability

Sometimes my brain will spark an idea, and so I go to carry it out (usually in an effort to sort through information on the internet, or perhaps to go fix a sandwich), but then my brain derails into a tangent and has another idea (like the idea to make this thread), and then I forget what's ensuing around me. Maybe I'll go to the kitchen to pick up a banana, but then I'll see my dog and I'll put some socks on him to watch him walk with an awkward gate. Then I'll take a shower and remember about the banana, but by then I'm really hungry so I just drink the fluoride water to sate my hunger til I get out. But instead I decide to take some fiber pills. Hours later, I'll be sound asleep in some dank dreamscape; and then giant banana people will start attacking me, and I'll think "Damnit, I keep forgetting that banana".

I'm going to put some horse blinders on my head to keep me from doing this.

Yes. Literally. Like one obese albatross takes off, and another follows it, but the first one lands awkwardly and the second one fell into the ocean from exhaustion. But then more keep coming.

I meant as a diagnosis. Like in ADHD or hypomania.

I find I have the same problem(short of the banana dreaming) when it comes to completing concrete tasks that I set out for myself.

Seems you have serious concentration issues.

Distractions can be reduced and, eliminated by doing concentration exercises daily.

Here you have a link with interesting information about Concentrarion Issues, and exercises: < Concentration Exercises for Training and Focusing the Mind>

Hope this is helpful, and you can get over distractions.

Did you see "Modern Family" on ABC last night. It had some classic LOLADHD action. Email is a horrible instigator of here there & everywhere syndrome because it's so easy to jump all over the place when you have 100 emails in your inbox on all sorts of different things...
