“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

The series I follow at the moment is:

    - Battlestar Galactica
    - Dexter
    - Grey's Anatomy
    - Heroes
    - House
    - How I Met Your Mother
    - Numb3rs
    - Prison Break
    - Scrubs
    - Smallville

All shows has excellent entertainment value, that being said, I love some of these shows a lot more than the others. Dexter is currently my favourite series, and it is a superb combination of entertainment and depth. I want to praise Battlestar Galactica for being the most philosophical of these shows, always raising questions, in a way that feels genuine. The first two seasons of Prison Break were ingenious, but to me it has lost some of its magic. Smallville is an old friend, which I spend my Friday evenings with. The other shows mentioned means less to me than these.
