Um... I just accidentally read the bottom of my screen, where it shows whose birthday is today?

    Happy Bday!!
Relationships have normal ebbs and flows. They do not automatically get better and better when the participants learn more and more about each other. Instead, the participants have to work through the tensions of the relationship (the dialectic) while they learn and group themselves and a parties in a relationships. At times the relationships is very open and sharing. Other time, one or both parties to the relationship need their space, or have other concerns, and the relationship is less open. The theory posits that these cycles occur throughout the life of the relationship as the persons try to balance their needs for privacy and open relationship.

It's a logical way to keep track of one's age. If there were no big celebration to help us remember, then we'd have to cut ourselves open periodically and then count the rings.

    Happy Birthday!

Heh heh, I suppose. But actually, being serious for a moment, I do find myself thinking about that milestone. It's artificial, but I really do feel that weight... but not just that - the getting married, pressure from work, friends getting distant... but also the side effects, like the freedom to start skiing again, maybe buying a piano/keyboard - things that as a kid I wanted to do when I got older, but actually reacing that point has scared me.

    [/serious]

Ah well I'll get over it. I look forward to the next crisis - I can get a sports car and a model then!

Agreed! I'll never buy a diamond until the day they grow them like pearls.
