    Default wtf?

so I have an aversion to sleeping 1) at my place and 2) in my bed. Is this an inferior Si thing? I prefer to sleep in other people's beds, couches, their floor, their garage, their car. Sometimes I wake up in a car or on the floor for no good reason (there is an open couch etc). And sometimes I sleep on my couch or floor, for no good reason.

    any feedback is appreciated

    That's not an inferior Si.

    It's definitely something else.

Hahaha. Ok, sorry about laughing. Your situation is serious, indeed. But the first thought I had wasn't anything type related but about some high sensitivity to either electro-magnetic fields at your place and especially in the vicinity of your bed or earth's magnetic fields that influence you negatively.

No, it doesn't sound like a function thing at all. In fact, it sounds more like an SP issue (vs. SO or SX). Do you know your E-type?

    Thank you for your appreciation.

Also, this isn't really a fluffy thread. Maybe if ideas develop it can find a better home elsewhere eventually...

My thinking was that my bed is my 'place' to sleep. That notion seems very Si. The inferior aspect comes along and I am no longer comfortable, or drawn to, my 'place'. Or, that I am trying to forge a new 'place'.

I will go ahead and assume this is the case for now

There are a couple subforums where it would be appropriate to post this. I usually have trouble deciding where exactly to post threads; I think this forum has a lot of overlap of various categories. But the fluff zone gets a lot of play, and I like the vibe, so I posted here.

I have also spent the night in my friend's closet and bathtub. The bathtub one was weird; I must have done some sleepwalking there. And I have no history of sleepwalking.

If you prohibit yourself from masturbating you may bundle up excess energy and wind up sleep walking. Imagine giving a narcoleptic dog viagra.

I've taken to sleeping on my own sofa, because it's warmer than my bedroom....

I *hate* sleeping on my bed. I hate it hate it hate it. I much prefer to sleep anywhere else. When I used to do the 9-5 thing, I would sleep on my couch on the weekends for a little mini-vacation away from real life. I think it's knowing that this is the dedicated place to sleep that really pisses me off. I have to *go* to bed. It sucks. I normally prefer to work until I drop, crashing in whatever position I was last in, at my desk or wherever.

In fact, I didn't own a bed for years - just a sorry little lumpy futon mattress shoved into a corner on the floor. I have a bed now since I live with someone but I never get a good nights sleep there.

Wow, I just released a lot of repressed pent-up emotion with this post. Huh.

I don't know if this is function related or not, but I also have inferior Si - although I can't imagine how that fits in with this whole thing.

I can't sleep on anything but a bed. And whenever I try and do manage to fall asleep anywhere else after ardious hours of staying awake in discomfort, I will wake up feeling like I climbed the mount everest and back with a pair of toe slippers carrying a backpack weighing a ton.

Any bed is fine, and so is mine. But when there's no bed, there is no rest to be had!
