Of course it is happening inside your head, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?

Autistic teen gets more than 10,000 birthday cards from around the world
Hallee Sorenson, who turns 19 on July 19, was pictured sitting alone and dejected at a bowling alley on her birthday last year, after none of the friends she invited showed up. Her cousin Rebecca Guildford of Massachusetts posted the photo online with a plea to make her 19th birthday better. It was shared more than 230,000 times.Since Guildford posted the photo on June 2, Sorenson has received birthday cards from the Boston Red Sox, Washington Redskins, John Elway and Ohio Gov. John Kasich. She's been showered with greetings, flowers, teddy bears and music from around the world.
Unfortunately, something like this can go horribly wrong. She'll probably be getting birthday cards by the thousands her entire life; it will eventually be a pain to deal with.Don't hate me because I'm right and you're not.

The kid making great progress!
Our daughter had made her first steps months ago but never really walked more than 3-5 steps at a time and sometimes went days without practicing. She didn't show much interest in walking and appeared to have other things on her mind.
Well, I don't know what happened but today something clicked and she's been walking around the apartment like crazy all afternoon. She's screaming with joy and gleaming with pride -and so are parents. Obviously.
You can't say that those were her first steps, but today is the day she started seriously walking. I literally marked the day in the family calender.
