I've not been having a good day today but spending time with my brother and sister, going for coffee and a milkshake and some reading sort of took the edge of things.

Tasting my first all-grain beer, a dunkelweizen. It is, literally, one of the best beers I have ever tasted in my life, and I cracked a bottle open after only five days of carbonation. Very, very happy
The closest beer I can think of would be Schneider Aventinus from Kelheim, Germany. The flavour and aroma profile, as well as colour, are almost identical. My beer, however, is more sessionable at 5%. The resemblance surprises me as I used slightly different yeasts and malts. Anyway:

Work! I worked five hours of overtime, helping a pair of coworkers finish a big milestone report due tomorrow. Feels good man. We (I) played victory music. Pizza and beer!

The aftermath of my wisdom tooth removal today hasn't left me in half the pain I anticipated. Plus, the novocaine's numbing effect on my lips wore out hours ago.
