I'm a makeup artist and have recently wondered why some men really don't like their women to wear makeup. Is it because they are insecure and don't want other men to notice their SO? I am really trying to understand as my Husband loves it when I get dressed up, style my hair and do my makeup.
I wasn't sure what to vote. I usually don't wear any makeup, but I don't have a job right now. If I had a part-time job dealing with the public, I would wear makeup on those days.
I still struggle with acne at certain times of the month, so if I don't want to look all blotchy, I have to wear a foundation. Sometimes that's all I put on if I'm just going to the grocery store.
When I get all made up, my goal is to not look heavily made up. (I don't know who Courtney Love is.) I wear foundation, blush, lipstick, eyeliner pencil and mascara. Occasionally, I use eye shadow.
Sometimes I perform on stage. When I do that, I apply the blush and eyes a little heavier.
I used to sell cosmetics and I learned the proper ways to apply make up.
My husband compliments me when I have make up on, but he doesn't complain when I don't - unless it's for my own good. Like we're heading to church and my face is all red. He might ask if I was going to put make up on - because knowing me, I could have forgotten.
