I saw part of that too, when I was flipping through the stations...!

and thought what a shame that Meg Ryan has ruined her face all in the name of vanity! To me this is way more bothersome that wearing makeup to enhance ones appearance.

Yes, I really HATE what happened to Meg. She had one of the most beautiful faces I had seen... and she ruined it a few years ago (along with her movie career?) when she had it done. I can barely stand to look at her.
Lest I be misunderstood, I am strongly against cosmetic surgery. Having said that, I don't think it's a fair assumption that had Meg Ryan declined a face lift she would be looking like 1989 Meg Ryan in 2007.

I was going for broke there.

I'm not into it-- makeup is very practical for me-- but I'm careful to allow her to express herself through her sense of style and get "dolled up" if she wants. (Not that she wears makeup, except for play, she IS only 8!)

I know a religion like that.... and no they weren't Mormons......

When I got married into a Pentacostal family, many of the church folks there wore long jean skirts and had their hair long and piled up on their heads.

Fascinating! There's a primitive baptist church not too far from here - it resembles an unpainted barn, and doesn't appear to have any windows. A lovely, simple looking building, I think.

What made you decide that the Primitive Baptist denomination was for you?
