At work today someone showed me pics from a family member's holiday of a life time, they went to Vegas, then they went to do quad racing in the desert, in between times they'd been racing around in a stretch monster truck and been to a firing range to shoot a Barrett Light 50 and an AK 47.
I mean that's awesome.

RE: Conversation on conformism - "The anti-conformist is only the negative slave of fashion, who constantly has to monitor the choices of the majority so as to be out of phase with them. The anti-conformist no less than the conformist must keep looking over his shoulder" - Sour Grapes: Studies in the subversion of rationality by Jon Elster.

It is deeply enmeshed with the brain mechanisms that automatically promote action readiness' - Jaak Panksepp

So I have a slight intermittent up-down nystagmus in my right eye. The first time was after having my first caramel macchiato (which is one of the few ways I can tolerate coffee/espresso - I was in a jam and I needed energy fast and I don't like black/green tea and I normally don't drink any caffeine at all) in my freshman year of college. Anyway it comes and goes and I haven't been able to trace any common factors (not that I've been trying or taking notes or anything). It doesn't interfere with my daily functioning other than being occasionally distracting while I'm staring into space because it just feels interesting.Accidentally offensive

This morning at work, my lesbian coworker commented on my shoes and said she liked them, then said tongue in cheek, 'They *almost* look dyke'. I lol'd.
Later on, she said: 'Did you see that hot girl with the tattoo?'
My response: 'I saw the tattoo'.
Her: 'We had good eye contact and she gave me a great tip'.
Me: 'So is it something with the eye contact that you can tell if someone is a lesbian? How do you tell?'
Her: 'I look at the hands, hands can say a lot. It's hard to tell in Colorado though.'
Her: Something about fingernails
Me: 'Ah, well, I don't care about my fingernails, I probably look lesbian based off of that'
Her: 'If I didn't know you, and it was a first impression, I'd probably think you were a hot lesbian'.
Me: Laughs."...On and on and on and on he strode, far out over the sands, singing wildly to the sea, crying to greet the advent of the life that had cried to him." - James Joyce

It's the little things that matter sometimes.
My package that I ordered last week still hadn't come, and I was going to walk down to the post office to track it down. I stayed home today due to a messed up sleep schedule and stress, and it's a good thing I did because the apartment manager knocked on my door to give me my package. Apparently it was in their office, the post office just forgot to leave a note saying it was delivered. I'm glad I stayed home because I needed this, and I wouldn't have been able to find it otherwise.
