It's funny when you think about it, how those who support the decriminalisation of marijuana mostly only do so because they're addicted to it themselves. Then they try to convince themselves and others that it's totally non-addictive and healthy for the majority of the population.4w5-9w1-5w4

A discussion is two people sharing their understanding, even when they disagree.

uumlau already pointed out that criminalizing them only causes other problems. The sensible thing to do is to decriminalize them, and for the hazardous ones, treat it more as medical problem and less of a legal problem.
The fact of the matter is, the research and medical literature illustrates quite clearly that the risks associated with Marijuana are largely unfounded. Alcohol has a higher risk associated with it. Hallucinogens are also of lower risk than alcohol (which I also believe should stay legal). Characterizing this as being somehow selfishly motivated is simply inaccurate and unfair.
Further there is very little to suggest that marijuana is addictive. It has the potential to be on a psychological level for some people, but many things can be (such as video games), and is not a reason to criminalize something. There is evidence to suggest there is a potential physical addiction with some cabbanoids. Synthetic cannabanoids which are thousands of times more powerful do show this. Given that marijuana doesn't have even close to that level of binding affinity, it doesn't have that potential.

Hmm...never given this typing any thought before, but after chatting with @Sinmara and seeing some potential, let's give INFJ a go for a bit
