Yes, that surprised me too. But I am most fascinated by the fact they have the ability to survive and thrive in a 0-12,000+ft altitude range. That is incredible to me.

It's funny when you think about it, how those who support the decriminalisation of marijuana mostly only do so because they're addicted to it themselves. Then they try to convince themselves and others that it's totally non-addictive and healthy for the majority of the population.

I support decriminalization of most drugs, because I believe that criminalizing them results in the same gang war violence that Prohibition created in the 1920s. I also firmly believe that the drugs that have been criminalized are very problematic and likely to ruin the life of anyone who takes them for recreational purposes, but that criminalizing them causes far more human suffering than just letting people ruin their own lives.
An argument is two people sharing their ignorance.

A discussion is two people sharing their understanding, even when they disagree.

Speaking as someone who Marijuana is actually bad for (as in, it worsens my bipolar symptoms), I still strongly support the legalization of most drugs. It's only a small number of people who it presents a problem for. @uumlau already pointed out that criminalizing them only causes other problems. The sensible thing to do is to decriminalize them, and for the hazardous ones, treat it more as medical problem and less of a legal problem.

The fact of the matter is, the research and medical literature illustrates quite clearly that the risks associated with Marijuana are largely unfounded. Alcohol has a higher risk associated with it. Hallucinogens are also of lower risk than alcohol (which I also believe should stay legal). Characterizing this as being somehow selfishly motivated is simply inaccurate and unfair.

Further there is very little to suggest that marijuana is addictive. It has the potential to be on a psychological level for some people, but many things can be (such as video games), and is not a reason to criminalize something. There is evidence to suggest there is a potential physical addiction with some cabbanoids. Synthetic cannabanoids which are thousands of times more powerful do show this. Given that marijuana doesn't have even close to that level of binding affinity, it doesn't have that potential.

Hmm...never given this typing any thought before, but after chatting with @Sinmara and seeing some potential, let's give INFJ a go for a bit
