I'm not actually smart. It takes me a long time to understand something, and even longer without concrete examples. I'm just really good at what I already know.

I relate to every word of this, though there are a few types of activity where I do catch on quickly, where I do feel "smart". There just seems to be so few places where those competencies are relevant, which probably has to do with my own choices of environment and what I commit myself to.

Exactly. Like socionics for instance, it took me about two years to "get it". A lot of it is theory, and I am a very visual person, so I have a lot of difficulty imagining the traits, descriptions and tendencies as described in the profiles, and they don't give examples as well.

I have to experience it for myself in order to imprint on my mind what these traits are, and only then I can truly "get it".

Same goes with math. I understand its purpose -- it's to teach you how to think logically and sequentially. But when I learn it, I just have a lot of difficulty understanding it because it's not something I can visualize or see it applied on real objects in daily life for it to get imprinted in my head. Except money of course. I'm really good with money.

I tried to grow out my nails. Problem is, I compulsively pick at my fingers. My nails are also pretty weak. So in less than two weeks (I think) my nails basically ripped off and were thrown in the trash.

It feels better now, though. I feel more natural and like myself with very short nails. Less hassle, too.
I don't mean to pry, but why would you even make the eyes?
