Nope, FPGA dev board, Parallel-to-JTAG, bidirectional.

Well, you should be able to answer yourself there, shouldn't you? Program an FPGA to serialize the signals.

Far out these hangovers are really beginning to rape my mental acuity.

unless you're just trolling, no, the problem is how to interface with the FPGA dev board, since it uses a pParalell-to-JTAG cable, and my dev machine doesn't have a LPT port. Trying to forward and the LPT on a old machine over ethernet to my dev machine.

I'm not trolling, I just didn't have enough information or any indication that you were really actually looking for a solution on this thread. When I messed around with it, I did my embedded development on dedicated machines that had all the required hardware, usually an older machine. It's worth avoiding the headaches to avoid all the weird requirements for that kind of development, proprietary software, parallel ports with specific specs, Windows.

yeah, the old machine with the LPT has low specs, but I'm gonna try and see if I can get the toolchain running on it, until I get a new dev board with usb.

I really don't want to go to school next week. I'm ready for spring break. I'm ready for summer. I'm ready for school to end and to never go back
