It's probably also important to mention that I'm hungry because I haven't eaten anything yet today, and probably should, but nothing sounds all too appealing to me so I haven't yet eaten anything. And then when I finally have some food in front of me I lose my appetite quickly. I've been like this all week and I don't really know why.

Even as a Diabetic you can. My Dad does.
Or you could get your limbs amputated, have a heart attack, stroke, or renal failure.

There's a balance. But I don't think not giving a fuck and letting yourself develop type II diabetes falls within those limits.

Eating sugar doesn't give you type II diabetes though, for goodness' sake.

Sounds like something emotional is bothering you. Just put together something reasonably healthy and make yourself eat it. Yes, sometimes eating is a chore, not a pleasure.

Yeah, eating a ton of carbs will suffice. No sugars needed.

It's always a matter of degree. For me it was sodas. Cutting out sugary sodas (and orange juice and milk) from my diet lowered my blood sugar by a ton.

    2) Myth: Eating too much sugar causes diabetes.

Fact: There is no one food or nutrient that causes diabetes. Type 1 diabetes (where all of the body’s insulin producing cells are destroyed) develops both because of genetics and from poorly understood environmental triggers that result in the onset of the disease. Type 2 diabetes is the result of both genetic and lifestyle factors.

There is no question that being overweight or obese increases your risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Weight gain occurs as a result of excess calories, and whether these calories come from a soda, breads, snacks or meat doesn’t generally matter. Because of genetics, some people gain weight more easily than others, but there is still an imbalance between calories eaten and those burned off.

Because of the complex relationship between genetics, the environment and lifestyle, it is incorrect to say that sugar causes diabetes.

All in moderation is what I meant. Just enjoy yourself. I meant my Dad can too, and he is a diabetic. I mean, he obviously monitors what he eats but he isn't anal about it. He has changed his diet a lot but still enjoys the odd treat. No-one is gonna live on this Earth forever. Eating healthy won't prolong your life when your death has already been written.

Moderation is pretty much the key to everything. Carbs aren't evil.
