    Get an eReader and download the books for free online, and then upload them onto it through your USB pen. That way, everyone's happy.
    I do that a lot, and I find it useful to do. You can always make back-ups on your PC and read them through an ePub/PDF reader.

    What is it with elementary schools and making their students read books where the dog dies? Where The Red Fern Grows was traumatizing for me when I was 10.

    I remember as a child I would happily pick books off the library shelves based on the happy dog (horse, etc.) on the cover, only to find that the animal kicks it miserably partway through.

    I like it because it gets me away from people.if i have to have a car to have that i'm willing to make that sacrifice and i don't need a fast car just one that runs and can get me there.
