I expected to be gone for longer, but I think I'm ready to come back now. My life and confidence are a little more solid.
I don't mean to pry, but why would you even make the eyes?

Humans murder millions of animals every day, but lose their mind over a wolf killing a few sheep to survive. Think about the economic damage!!!

Vince, the intrepid warrior braved cold rain and wind to make it to his goal; the goal of buttery flapjacks and warm, sharp coffee. Walking for ten whole minutes, his strength and courage got him through the worst of it, and his reward came soon.

Legend has it that he can still taste the buttery tones of the flapjacks stuck between his teeth and the sharpness of the coffee twenty minutes on

This "Recuva" program gives me hope. Testing it out, it was able to pick up a few files. So, running it for the whole drive. 3TB so it's taking a full day. In the meantime, I'm not touching my computer, because fuck fucking up further.
Epilogue: It's taken a day and a half, but I think I finally have order restored. It only took the work of two external drives, Google Drive, two internal drives, and a laptop that had an old sync of Google Drive. Mash that stuff together and try to reorganize it.

The reason why I wanted to back things up in the first place was to split my OS drive in two and try Ubuntu again.

... that wasn't worth it. Maybe I'll come back to Ubuntu when I'm not completely burned out of computers or something.

I wish this smoke alarm would shut itself off... Even the heat rising from the toaster oven sets it off... Yikes.

    Why not an Ubuntu VM?

Even better, keep a pristine image of it, and in the off chance the original dies or is infected, Shazam!, you have your original install to copy over. If it weren't for the fact that all my work and play is in Windows, I'd do that. But as it stands, it's really only practical for browsing and email.
