I was awaked with a terrible dream of the most profound and serious sadness this morning. It was a truly bad experience.

Yeah but there's only so much work you can actually do, I've known people who put in extra hours or every hour possible in shift work which permitted it, the organisation loved it too because it relieved for a time staff issues or the need to cover shifts checking in with every single resource but inevitably productivity takes a nose dive, people get tired, with the best will in the world it happens.

Was trying to back up my hard drive into an external drive. Plugged in the external.

    Formatted the wrong fucking drive.

This "Recuva" program gives me hope. Testing it out, it was able to pick up a few files. So, running it for the whole drive. 3TB so it's taking a full day. In the meantime, I'm not touching my computer, because fuck fucking up further.

Yeah, we have people like that at work. They work their way up by overtime only to be expected to do as much work and are stuck doing what they did to get there. I believe in knowledge and expertise...work smarter and harder...works way better then just one or another. Then you can work half as much and get twice as much done. Balls to the wall, then rest
Take what I say with a grain of salt, because that's all it is compared to the ocean of complexity when it comes to actions and real life.

This is exactly me. My body got mad at me, and the last two weeks (especially days) have been the nosedive and recovery. I think I've reached a place with work now where I just can't worry that much anymore but still have enough will to help, better out of quick necessity than never. While I've gone through the overwork/crash thing a few times in previous endeavors, those times I never arrived at this peaceful conclusion.
