Holy shit. I need to move.

I am starting to get so sick of the same old scenery and the same old people and the same old faces and the same old rooms and the same old traffic, and streets, and activities, and hobbies, and errands, and chores, and arguments, and ideas, and self importance, and self impotence, and food, and games, and thoughts, and feelings.

Distance breeds affection and I really need to forget what I currently know so I can appreciate it again.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, because that's all it is compared to the ocean of complexity when it comes to actions and real life.

and thinking even more about sheep (not in that way!)... my dad always called the sheep to follow him to a different pasture by drumming on the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket... they would always follow him because it was also the same way that he'd call them over if he was feeding them. Every time he'd hit the bucket 3 times, yell "sheep" and the leader sheep would baa about one second later... and then all of the other sheep would baa in return. They'd continue the whole thing, drumming, "sheep", baa and then all baaing all of the way to the new pasture, where he'd shut the gate behind them.

in the summer, when we'd let them into the front woods and the meadows to graze, they had to be led to a pen nearer to the house at night so that they coyotes wouldn't eat them and in the morning they would be led back... every night, as it grew dark enough that all you could see was the white bucket and my dad's white t-shirt, you'd hear him calling them into the closer pasture. And in the mornings, early enough that the light was still golden and there was still dew on the longer grass up outside of the yard, he'd call them back to the forest and meadow pasture. I'd lay in bed in the morning, still half asleep and enjoying the sunlight coming through the windows, and listening to the sheep moving from one pasture to the other.

even thinking about that sound and setting now, at least 14 years later, it still makes me smile

Your dad ran a sheep cult.

Sitting here pondering, trying to think of personal strengths, and I think, I don't look back, like fall back on the old or familiar when I don't know what to do next. At least not when it matters. And then I was like duh that's Ne/Si, right? And then all the thoughts. And back to square one.

Quite possibly... You can never really trust the quiet country people. Lovecraft taught us that

Along with the other important lesson that the ocean contains many unimaginable horrors...
