    I am just recently starting to learn that it doesn't matter how I say something, what matters is that I say it...

    To each their own. For me, speaking my mind has gotten me banned from one more than one internet forum, with the phrase "it's not what you say, but how you say it" tossed in there. I'm not really up for repeating history. I like the way this forum is run, but I don't want to take any chances. Somebody else can play the hero this time; I'm getting too old for this sort of thing.

    Part of me wants Bernie to become president, but part of me thinks that we still aren't ready as a country for what he's proposing. Beyond that, he has to make it through the primaries.

    The thing about Bernie and the primaries is that Bernie is kind of like R2-D2. The sort of people that like to vote in the Democratic primaries are more like C-3P0, on average. This includes the memory wipe issues. He's kind of too blunt and honest for the presidency at the moment. He's going to say or do something that people will think is improper, and it's going to play on every news program on repeat for a week. Once that happens, his policy positions or voting record won't matter.

    I've come to think that best thing for American politics is for Hillary to win the election; it's the outcome that is the most likely to push things in the right direction further down the road.

    The thinking behind Kerry was that we needed a military guy because of 9/11, and people would vote for him just because he was in the military. That's the way Democratic primary voters tend to think.

    I think Clinton stands a better chance of being elected than Kerry, though, especially if she faces off against Bush.

    I was referring more to shyness/shame/perfectionism in real life.

    @Vulcan

    Can't bet on Hillary though. She's exactly even.

    Hmm, I need to learn more about gambling terminology. I misunderstood what you were saying.
