It would be interesting to talk about whether it actually is fascist or not. Not in the sense that the word "fascist" is commonly used (which is much too broad and general), but in the true sense of what makes an ideology fascist.
Most authoritarian ideologies and regimes are not really fascist. And even out of those who are, only a couple have managed to come acquire real power.
Of course, it's difficult to precisely determine what is fascist and what isn't and there are almost as many definitions as there are scholars of fascism. But they do all agree that the term is misused by most people.
Why would you say it isn't fascist? What would you call it?
I'm happy with using the word totalitarian, if you think that's more accurate.
