    One of my burning questions as someone who has gone both ways, even at the same time (e4 can make it happen...). Fortunately the former far more than the latter these days. And going off of that insight how, then, to improve a person's resilience, whether oneself or anyone who is growing up or recovering from something. And how much it can in reality be done.

    Right even if this movie doesnt eventually have a supernatural element its horror enough with all the depression, trauma and distress.

    Today I ate tongue (lengua) for lunch, besides tasting great, just the idea of it is amusing.

    I like "infelicitous".

    On one of his trips, P. J. O'Rourke interviewed someone in Jordan from an organization with a name that was an unwieldy hodgepodge of letters. He described the group as infelicitously acronymed.

    I am done with ideologies and small-minded people. All the isms sound like diseases to me. I'd rather know reality.

    Stoicism is starting to look good to me.
    [Trump's] rhetoric is not an abuse of power. In the same way that it's also not against the law to do a backflip off of the roof of your house onto your concrete driveway. It's just mind-numbingly stupid and, to say the least, counterproductive. - Bush did 9-11

    The -isms are used to shape reality. A small mind is inherently a focused mind. All that is not my bag, but it's really real.

    Yes, but the way someone shapes reality should also be based on reality. I agree with certain goals and directions society should take, but I think our current methods are utterly crap. The small-minded can only interpret this as wanting to turn back the clock. Some even call me paranoid for thinking they are crap, which is ridiculous.

    I have this reflex where upon I hear myself using this word I stop and reassess. There's a mawing gap the size of a novel in a sentence where should is.

    The Soldier

    If I should die, think only this of me:
    That there's some corner of a foreign field
    That is for ever England. There shall be
    In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
    A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
    Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,
    A body of England's, breathing English air,
    Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.

    And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
    A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
    Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
    Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
    And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
    In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

    - Rupert Brooke
    'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

    Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
    "Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.
    - A.A. Milne.
