Oh yeah, it's open bar. And I've been forewarned about an old man who tries to get all the younger women to dance every year. Should be awkward as hell, but at least there's gin. I hate dressup stupid things.. my friend hates them more, but it's important for him to rub elbows with some of the higher-ups, so I don't mind keeping him company for it.
Old friend owes me bigtime for this, though.
Thanks for the feedback, I never follow social protocols with clothing. My ISFJ mother would've stuck me in a dress suit if I'd asked her, haha. Probably with Christmas brooches.
I'm pretty loose with my protocol-following. I try to find something that 'works' if that makes sense. Gives me a lot more freedom and ensures that I can feel comfortable and 'myself' without being 'that girl' who the boss needs to have a talk with about dress code.
But yeah, my ESFJ mom always tried to impose weird dress code things like that when we were young. Christmas? That means Christmas bows and red velvet, duh.
Let the awkward times roll!
You hem me in -- behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
