I was just thinking.....I've seen a few videos and articles on this notion of a world of abundance that's just around the corner with medical & technology advances and maybe some spiritual stuff too.
But then I thought about this potentially just being another material set of comforts to hide behind instead of confronting real problems with our conditionings and natures. I mean we're all addicted and often I think the only reason our world isn't even more extreme, (and it's pretty good for extremes right now), is because most people can't afford to just indulge in their whims without, (dubious), moral considerations. They can't afford it monetarily or sometimes relationally. But it's all a hit of endorphins and if everyone has abundance I think we would see even more in the excesses of human behaviour.
If you were enjoying life all the time, it would just be greed and eventually a person would find themselves searching for bigger highs in order to satiate the urge for feeling. Although it doesn't have to be sensory or physical. Limitation sometimes makes a pursuit more worthwhile, but would you hold to a view of struggling and succeeding being more fulfilling than being handed it on a platter? I don't know the answer for myself, because I only have speculation.
