I dont think misrepresenting yourself with white lies adds anything to a person.. only to a game.. that is simply illusion
Some people enjoy that and some dont. It reflects lifestyle choice.. not "having a life"
I'd much rather someone make me feel important early on because they can see and acknowledge my value..
Than somehow create my value by playing games and dating around and window shopping.
Being an individualist should not conflict with valuing others.
When you see what you want you go for it.
Hah, maybe? I don't think life is actually that simple. Maybe it is when you're younger, or maybe you just wish it was, or maybe it is for some people in some places. For some of us, life tends to collect scars, and foster things like fear of trusting too fast, or fear of being devalued. I like to deal with my scars by dealing with my own fears and being as understanding within reason for others, at least until I get the whole picture. This is how I go for it.
'Consciousness is not simply a sensory-perceptual affair, a matter of mental imagery, as the contents of our mind would have us believe. It is deeply enmeshed with the brain mechanisms that automatically promote action readiness' - Jaak Panksepp
