Ugh, I'm tired of constantly trying to be relatable. I'm going to actively become less relatable.

Oh, myself. A long time ago I decided that it was important for acceptance. Now I'm looking for more than that.

Good for you! It's not worth it. Acceptance by itself is a hollow prize, which will not give you any lasting satisfaction.

Hah, thanks for the encouragement. But I'm a 4 I know that nothing with give anybody lasting satisfaction (this is true, and not as bad as it sounds). I have a feeling I can find new things this way.

What do you mean by that? (Not interrogating you, just curious.) Certain relationships and events in my life *have* given me lasting satisfaction. Just not the things or people that I thought would. Again, I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm just curious about why you think nothing will give anyone lasting satisfaction.

I guess I dislike the lack of honesty implied in the statement that something can give lasting satisfaction. It perpetuates the belief that a person can acquire something and then be happy. The reality of it is not really hinted at, satisfaction is a process and it's one that needs to continually evolve and engaged with and not something that somebody can put in one's pocket and forget.
