Time tells us a lot but also leaves us with questions too.

I'm quite happy I think. I wish I had something more interesting to say though.

This is the Random Thought Thread: you don't have to have something more interesting to say. You don't have to have anything of any particular interest to say. That's the beauty of it.

Nowadays most of my posts are confined to this thread and other threads in The Fluff Zone and The Bonfire because most of the rest of the forum either doesn't hold my interest or is too combative for my taste. I'm quite content to limit most of my posts to silly things that I found amusing, articles and videos that I found to be interesting, or just something completely random from the day-to-day happenings of my life. Too often I feel like it's not worth my time writing posts in other threads because I know that some people will latch on to them as invitations to argue. Not debate, mind you: argue. It's painfully unconstructive and toxic.

I admit that I'm not above stirring up proverbial hornet's nests too. In fact I'll quite readily tell someone off for their behaviour, opinions or obvious attempts at deliberately misleading or misconstruing others, which doesn't help to heighten the level of discussion. So I try to stay away. And I try to give positive feedback to others' posts where I can, even if my reply might be a seemingly token "That's very interesting, thank you for posting it."

I write posts with the expectation that no one will ever reply. With no expectations it makes negative responses very easy to ignore. It also makes it feel especially nice when someone gives me positive feedback or adds upon my post in a positive, constructive way. With no expectations every positive addition comes as a pleasant surprise.

So thank you for asking if I was feeling grumpy. It turns out I'm not, just a little worn out. I'm pleased that you're quite happy, and I hope that you have a wonderful day.

Congratulations, though. I can picture you serenading this special little lady with love poems such as:

Roses are red, violets are blue
Now bury your face in the pillow, while I brutally **** you.
No. But people see what they want to see.

First day of Fest done. At least the nausea limited itself to before and after cannon.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.
