    The CIA factbook was factually inaccurate about the Irish troubles you know?

    I'm sure there were divisions and the republic may have sought to influence their ideology away from left wing politics because of geo-politics and just national politics from the time of the civil war but the IRA, particularly the provisional IRA, were not seeking to impose a "roman catholic ideology" on NI.

    Reading that was interesting though, made me think about Anglo-American relations and ideology, maybe it is all about the WASPs.
