    in order:

Dear God, yes. i haven't talked shoes in forever.

Even moderate noise is good, i've just discovered belts. WHO KNEW THEY WERE SO AWESOME?!

I haven't tried one, i wanted to give the Garnier tinted BB cream a go, but they never make one in my shade of unhealthy white.

Tom Waits is one of my musical blankies. I want this song played at my funeral:

    Learn me, m'lady.

This is pretty phenomenal. My dad's family's from New Orleans, so I grew up with jazz funerals. I plan on having one. Bitches better be dancing their ass off and partying like it's 1999 and shit when I die. None of that crying and quiet casserole nonsense.

Ah, shit. I love me some Fela.

As for Tom Waits.. I just feel him. I started listening in middle school, which might explain how I turned out. He has something for every mood. Torch songs, freaky weird shit, sad shit... and his voice is one of a kind. I just googled "Tom Waits' voice is like" and here are a few of the results:

"Tom Waits' voice is like no other. It’s like someone’s taken sandpaper to a polar bear’s vocal chords and placed them in a tiger, which then decided to get drunk and smoke a lot."

"Tom Waits' voice is like the serenade of a drunken train engineer who is aiming the train into the side of a cliff."

"Tom Waits' voice is like the Nintendo Entertainment System, your parents help you hook it up." (I must admit I'm not sure I fully get that one. But I assume it was written by a younger person because my parents did not hook me up with Tom Waits, but I am hooking up my kids.)

"Tom Waits' voice is like broken glass and gravel and fingernails scraping on a blackboard."

"Tom Waits' Voice is like Louis Armstrong meets Ethel Merman in Hell."

"Tom Waits' voice is like a concrete mixer in heaven."

"Tom Waits' voice is like one of those dogs with the wrinkly skin; it's ugly as sin, but weirdly lovable."

Here's something on the other end of the spectrum from the other song I posted. I absolutely LOVE his voice in the refrain:

This was my first Tom Waits song- a boy put it on a mix tape for me in the seventh grade:

    And he's strangely hot.

You have driven me to something few others have on this forum:

This is kind of funny. I think Tom Waits is a great singer, but I like how we got from Orbison to Waits since their styles of singing on two separate galaxies.

Amusingly enough, I did Ivy's search except with Roy Orbison, and I found this.

“To me, his voice sounds like the wind forming words and being sent to you from across time. There is something so tender, so private about his voice, it confides feelings you keep mostly to yourself.” ~ Tom Waits.

I see that in the mean time, Ivy thoroughly covered you for Waits. I'll just throw this in.

    For comparison.

Just the other end of the spectrum.

Since we seem to be going ona YouTube bonanza here, I'll just throw this in for the hell of it.

    Go to sleep, iguana.
