A part of me wants to adopt tiny mice as pets, so I can feed them each a little blueberry, and set up my miniature ferris wheel that turns and lights up. I would truly squeal with delight if my other pets didn't eat them first.

Do you ever wonder if you have the same consciousness you had when you were younger, or if you have gradually morphed into a completely new entity with a completely new consciousness? Probably the Buddhist concept of "not the same and not different" sums it up the best. I feel disturbed by this tonight after reading some old diaries.

Sometimes I sharply and clearly remember my younger self. And I can see I was a creature of my environment. In other words, I couldn't have done anything different under the circumstances. And I am glad the circumstances have changed.

I feel like that sometimes. I feel like I have become the unreliable narrator of my own story. My memory is nowhere near what it used to be.

An idea I've had for a children's story has finally morphed into an actual story! Third in a series I've written. Originally they were just for me and I had no interest in trying to get them published, but I recently found out that the publishing company one of my best friend works for 1) publishes children's fiction/storybooks (I thought they only did nonfiction/educational, since that's the department my friend works in and 2) is looking for stories in series. Hmmm....
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Terrible things happen to good people every day.
Consequentially, I am not one of the good people.
I am one of the terrible things.

Could we find a nice, quiet place to discuss shoes? I would also settle for a place with moderate noise and chat about accessories.

What are your feelings about BB creams?

Thoughts on Tom Waits? I want to get into him beyond "Make it Rain".
