# Thread: Random Thought Thread

1. It's not for me. It's for that grumpy red hobbit who lives in my house.

2. Oh.

I don't quite live in the land of opportunity. Time is slower here, opportunities slimmer.

But funny, I have thought of skydiving last week.

It IS hard. I'm kind of learning the metric distances because the pool where I swim laps is metric, so I find myself doing conversions, but I'm totally fucked when it comes to Celsius temperatures. Which is not exactly metric, but it's another thing that Americans don't use.

5. It's raining outside. I love rain.

6. Checking out of this mess...permanently.

7. I went to put in a load of laundry at halftime, and someone had already beat me to the machines. :steam:

But Celsius is kind of metric. Boiling point 100 degrees, freezing point 0 degrees. It follows the rule of 10

Ahh, so true! And so much more logical! Water freezing at 32 and boiling at 212 is not nice and round at all.

</anal-retentiveness (for now)>

10. The Canadians taught me an easy way to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit. Double the Celsius temperature and add 30. It's not perfect, but it's perfect enough.
