Obama's big speech in Berlin. A hot summer day.
Germans (with whom he has an 80% approval rating) are anxious to hear about about the state of German-American relations. There has been lots of talk recently about America no longer valueing the friendship between the two nations.
And what does the man do?
He starts his speech by taking off his jacket, wrapping up the sleeves of his shirt and inviting everyone to do likewise: "After all, we're among friends here!"
The crowd goes berserk.

I am having lunch at a place near one of the high schools for gifted kids. My table has just been swamped by said kids and I'm totally invisible and it is hilarious listening to them. They are adorable and they are cheating their little butts off. Lol.
I got up. I ran to the bathroom and ran back and dismayed at how cold the bed had become, even in that short interval. I mean, I know it's not as cold as your winters, but we're just so bloody unprepared for it. It's like summer, with its constant 38-45C weather wipes your memory of winter. AND THEN YOU PAY.
