Sometimes is easy to get down and pessimistic about the state of the world. So it does help to know that our world is one in which this happened.
I hope I'm wrong, but I believe that he is a fraud, and I think despite all of his rhetoric about being a champion of the working class, it will turn out to be hollow -- Bernie Sanders on Trump

I was toying with the idea of more or less creating my own language recently. Considering how my thoughts work, it would have been amazing if I could have gotten farther, but as usual, the part of me that hates work shut down the idea. At least I got my ideas down before my motivation crashed; maybe sometime when I get really bored I can work on it some more. It could be fun if only to mess around with....

Re: inventing your own language:
I dunno if you guys have heard of, or read, "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman -- I'd describe it as Harry Potter plus The Chronicles of Narnia as written by Bret Easton Ellis -- there's a really, really cool scene involving an entrance exam, and the exam requires making up your own language, describing its grammar, what part of the world it's from, etc. (Phenomenal book, by the way.)Originally Posted by Nørrsken impersonating EJCC

Bret Easton Ellis. In the 90's, when he came out with American Psycho, I called up my pals about midnight and read some excerpts, just to screw with them. They had no idea it was a satire. I can't believe how many people got worked up about that book when it was released. Women called Ellis a misogynist and sent him death threats.
The power of fiction.
