I have a feeling that I talked enough for two people, so I guess it just evens out!

Thank you all for a fun evening and thank you, whatever for planning it!

When I got home I thought I was going to chill out and turn in, but the Mr. decided we'd get started on moving and then go to the grocery store.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Terrible things happen to good people every day.
Consequentially, I am not one of the good people.
I am one of the terrible things.

Does anyone know of any way to keep track of big events in comic books? I hear long after the event usually, sometimes when the details hit the mainstream media and that's usually well after its out of graphic novel collected copies and into the planning for a movie phase of development.

I guess that depends a bit on the genre you're interested in. Is there a certain publisher that brings out stuff you tend to like (I have one). There are sure to be blogs and magazines. If you like graphic novels, there's the festival of Angouleme, the biggest in Europe. Their annual winners are usually good. Or if they have one in your town, ask in a specialised Comic book store.

The Angouleme winners of the last years are on Wikipedia and there's a website. Publishers have newsletters.

9:15 is a perfectly reasonable time to get up on a Saturday... even if I was asleep by 11.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Nail salon lady may think I'm crazy for just coming in for a simple gel manicure and forbidding her to cut my cuticles in a part of town where full sets are the norm, but dammit, I tip well!

I'm trying to stop biting my nails!

I am drinking wine. It will make writing this horrible article easier, or keep me from doing it at all.
