This sounds delightful (the second part). I am up to my ears preparing for a major meeting next week. I will want a week alone in the lab after that, but am unlikely to get it.

    Nice!

Although, tbh, he got one of the words wrong. When I read your Arabic-language post, it took me a few minutes to figure out what "akrab" meant, and then I realized that he meant "aqrab" -- with the Q pronounced way, way in the back of your throat -- which means "closest". But inability to distinguish the Q and the K is a pretty standard mistake in beginning Arabic, so I'm sure the Iraqis cut him some slack.

p.s. A translation of what I'd said in response: "I don't know... probably far from me, because I live in the middle of a big city. Maybe outside the city, in the countryside?
    Do you speak Arabic??"

Don't you have to burn the flag when someone cries on it?

Or is it just when it touches the ground?

Ah yeah, that could be it. I never thought about "bland" and "spicy" being on opposite sides of a spectrum.

Yeah, but Asians do. That's more likely than not a meal preference choice for a flight to/within Asia.
