Just to give you a short example, at a recent trade fair in Frankfurt on visual communication (advertisement people are notoriously OTT with this) you could hear people say things like "Sie haben einen Value-Add in der gesamten Working-Chain des Kunden" or "Das Wichtigste an der Customer Experience ist der Customer" or "Ich wünsche Ihnen viele tolle Insights." or "Man bekommt auch die Ingredients gesagt, die man braucht". It's downright bizarre.
She didn't meet him until they were in their early twenties, but apparently got along very well with each other. She studied German at my alma mater and then at the university of Bayreuth where she got her PhD. She's now working on social projects in Kenya but her German is excellent.I just looked her up, because my first thought was "Wait, Maya Soetoro-Ng speaks German??", and then I realized that Obama has a half-sister on his dad's side. I thought his only half-siblings were Soetoro-Ng and the Kenyan guy who currently lives in a slum.
Did Auma Obama know him all that well? Could you tell from the interview? I had been under the impression that he'd been estranged from his father's side of the family until relatively recently.
