Dormant, protective stages of bacteria, protozoa, or worms.

With bacteria, you'd probably be ok, although you don't want a rare pathgenic strain of bacteria which would put you in the hospital. Worst case scenario

With protozoa, you'd likely have serious gastrointestinal disturbances for 1-6 weeks, making life not fun. Worst case scenario

Worms are a gamble. Most probably wouldn't do anything. Most. Worst case scenario

You're more likely to get sick from bacteria or protozoa in improperly handled food than city water.

A water filter is a good thing, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Keep in mind that this advice is coming from a guy who sometimes drinks water directly from wilderness streams.

I keep getting emails from acquaintances asking me to donate to something. And presumably they can then go and check my donation. Or lack thereof. And then, tiny social death. What about an option for "I already give to a charity about which I never send you a faceless email"?

It's annoying when it's on behalf of someone who doesn't even like you!

I told her she had some mascara on her cheek, but I didn't have the heart to mention her eye makeup looked wonky and her lip liner was crooked. *shudder*

Trashtastic? Where has this word been all my life?
And so long as you haven’t experienced this: to die and so to grow,
you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth
