    Edit:

    Found out tryptophan is part of synthesizing seratonin, one of the pleasure hormones, and the seratonin gets converted to melatonin, which is the sleep hormone.

    Sometimes I contemplate going to therapy just to have a chunk of time allotted to another person expecting to listen in on my headspace.
    It wouldn't guarantee someone else being on the same wavelength, but it could be a closer path.

    It's a shame that the friends I have that are completely capable, have the responses I desire, and would make me comfortable are the most difficult to drag into a thought-corner.

    Which is the only thing you can absolutely be certain therapy will actually deliver on. This is probably one of the principle reasons anyone sees a therapist.
