    Quotes are for fags.

    On another note- I was like HOLY SHIT 9 NOTIFICATIONS? AND I HAD 3 AT LEAST BEFORE I LEFT? That would have been 12 at least, for those who can't count.
    Excuse me, but does this smell like chloroform to you?

    I guess...it goes to show the power of images and books which can create a world that can help keep us hanging on in this world even in situations that are unbearable. I wish people didn't have frustrations and rage and mental pain and resentments so heavy. Yet they do and I notice that books and art can be a way to stay in the world, even when you feel so embittered by it.
    Those quotes are a good illustration of exactly why I love this poem by Kipling:

    If

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too:
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or being hated don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

    If you can dream---and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think---and not make thoughts your aim,
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same:.
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

    Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
    And never breathe a word about your loss:
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings---nor lose the common touch,
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much:
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And---which is more---you'll be a Man, my son!
    The poem itself is also a very good description of some of the instances which can make my work frustrating from time to time, with an emphasis on from time to time, you know, this being a random thought thread and I'd guess spontaneous as opposed to ponderous.

    I also dont believe that acknowledging the freedom to walk away and join the leisure class that money conveys in a capitalism is an assent to dollar values, its something much more cynical than that surely.

    I thank you Lark watchers, be sure to tune in next time, same Lark time, same Lark channel

    Finished my novel five minutes ago and I'm already jonesing for another. Difficult to get the sufficiently different, sufficiently similar balance to provide the fix.

    To the library!!

    I feel bad about this, but I really do not like the new team member working with me on my biggest program. I'm super annoyed and frustrated with him right now.
    Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.
