I have never, ever received service like this last watch battery replacement. The guy spent 15 minutes on it which made me wonder about his competency level. But then, after he finished, he explained what took him so long. It turns out that the last battery was still fine. The problem was that it was the wrong battery size so that's why he took time to test the battery itself.

Anyways, he replaced the battery, spent another 15 minutes talking to me, explaining the battery size differences and even showing me the difference on a chart. Wrote everything down on the receipt, even the battery numbers of both old and new. Insisted I take home the old battery since it still worked well. Wrote his name and said it twice to me, until I repeated his name to him. Pointed to the boutique's phone number and address so I wouldn't get confused. And throughout the entire interaction, the guy was blushing so hard. At least this time, he wasn't a minor so it didn't creep me out. As a guess, in his early thirties and cute, albeit shy.

Unless that guy is just extremely passionate about watch maintenance, it sounds like he was just kinda hitting on you.

It's possible that was true but really awkwardly done. It was kinda' sweet though and not pushy. If you can believe it, he even apologised for charging me for the new battery.

I must admit I chuckled to myself when I read that as it sounds like he did the typical retail industry "professional flirting" tactic of giving you his name/number and the "call me if you have any problems", as if he has the only remaining spare battery for that watch in existence, or it's going to randomly explode on your wrist, and rather than going to the hospital or going somewhere else to have it replaced you see his number and think "geez, thank god for that guy!". I don't even think that works unless you're a plumber in a porno movie.

If it does explode on my wrist, there's no doubt I have his contact information indelibly engraved on my mind!
