Actually, I tend to "de-realize" things. When I hear conventional wisdom, it seems to make sense on the surface, and I go ahead and accept it, shape my worldview around it. I'm usually rather compliant, actually.
But then, I see something that doesn't fit... and I think about it, and realize WHY "they" say it, and that it is one way of seeing it, but that it's not necessarily the best way of seeing it.
I always see that there is (or was) a purpose behind everything they say, however.

I re-realize things on my own, about things I wonder about all the time that hasn't been deduced completely by my own self.
I wouldn't go as far as Jen and say own knowledge.
