Thanks for reminding me about my dead car.

We all want different things. You want to cry. I want an Italian sub with prosciutto, cappicola, good cotto salami, provolone, pepperoncini, mayo, oregano and basil.

This is why you need to learn to control them.

Tell me about it. Many years for me, can't even remember the last time. Right through divorce, bereavements... not a tear in sight.

"You're so cold" they say, "why don't you cry?"

    I only wish I could.

It's just that whenever I think I'm going to start, the absurdity, futility and self-indulgence of it all hits me, and I just can't go on with it. It'd be like still wanting to jump through a window even when you've seen there's a turd bath waiting below. Somehow the desire just evapourates, and with it, the ability.

Rent Shadowlands and watch it one evening, alone.

I don't know what would do it if that doesn't.

I can't remember what I was watching last week that made me cry. My IXFP daughter looked over at me and said "Are you crying??" When it comes to movies, I pretty much cry at the drop of a hat, otherwise not so much.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

I have a dark secret: I have often almost gotten choked up by watching some of those Disney movies -- most recently, The Shaggy Dog remake with Tim Allen.

Substance abuse might help. Not a lot else will at this stage, though, unless some extreme situational shit goes down.

Nice fight club reference btw whoever that was.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if anyone would catch that one.
