I try to avoid making sweeping generalizations, actually. The only times I do it are when a more specific discussion about something is not going to be possible and I just want to make my dissent on something known.

I'm pretty open-minded, but I'm also cynical, and I get more that way the more life experience I have. So I'm open to being convinced of almost anything, but it takes a lot to convince me.

There's so many fakes of this on youtube.
You can tell that he knows he's doing something very wrong because he's nervous about the impending blowback.
Someone on Youtube has the theory that it was just a publicity stunt.
I think he's probably right. It's fake like wrestling.
Taylor's reaction looks phony too, like she knew this was planned.
Can some INFJ's tell me what you make of their behavior?
You guys are supposed to be great at reading people.
How exactly is someone supposed to look? Does shock have a specific facial feature to it? Doesn't personality theory teach us that people react in different ways? Or I guess we could stereotype her and say that since she didn't react a certain way, it must've been staged and she's a bad actress. I'm sure they would've caught that in rehearsal, though.

Also, Kanye's apologies probably would've been a bit better rehearsed and a little more dramatic. In fact, his interruption seemed completely off the cuff. And Beyonce's reaction to it was definitely filled with surprise (and her inviting Swift up was the only unplanned part?)

Yeah, we STPs are supposed to be good at reading people, too, just by a different method.

    Same here.

And when a mainstream opinion seems to be latched onto by the masses without a second thought, I'm very suspicious of it.

That is not comparable to an outburst at a freaking awards show where people put on nice clothes and hold a funny trophy, ultimately staining a kid's first moment in the sun.

They're two different arenas, they're not comparable.
I suspect his "emotional" outburst at the Katrina fund-raiser was planned, as well. Which, to me, is actually a lot more contemptible than what he did to Swift, as it constitutes a publicity stunt/irresponsible race-bating during an event that was supposed to be about and for the benefit of the victims of a natural disaster.

On a side note, I have finally found an issue on which I am in complete agreement with Obama; Kanye is a jack-ass.

Can no one imagine that some people just have spontaneous outbursts? It's a trait of SPs both good and bad.

I can imagine it, I just doubt it in this case.

Um, no. Taylor Swift was genuinely upset.

Kanye was drunk. He was escorted out by the MTV bouncers.

Usually I dislike it when people say something was fake, but this time it seems like it was. Kanye really looked like he was very aware he was doing something horribly wrong and Taylor's reaction looked exaggerated and badly acted. There's always been lots of PR stunts in show business and I think this was one of them. Many people find award shows boring and this is a way to spice it up and gain more publicity to make more money. Show business thrives on scandal.
