I thought it would be funny to start a new trend: Creating polls to rate the latest PM spam.

I didn't think it was that bad. Some grammar issues, gave the impression of genuine concern, formatted relatively nicely, even had a link to go to!

    7/10.

9/10 if it was actually Haight running an experiment as to who turns it in, forwards it, or overreacts and does everything a stranger says [I'm looking at you SJs].

I didn't even know Haight collected credit card numbers.

    Impressive.

I must be gullible... his plan is so nefarious, it makes no sense.

What is the purpose of the e-mail? A jaded ex-forum memeber?

I don't know Haight that well, but on the other hand I don't really keep any personal identity-theft-able stuff on here, even the e-mail is an alt I use for soaking up possible spam which made me believe it was B.S.

8/10. I'm worried it may very well drive a ton of people away from this site. The name was real. I did a WHOIS lookup on this domain.

But it was a very common name, and I couldn't find anything in connection to hackers on it. If he was really a "well-known" hacker/scam artist, I think I would have found several pages condemning him as such. Every other well-known scam I've ever looked up had a site where victims went to complain about it and learn as much as possible about the one who did it.

So, my theory is that someone who has a bone to pick with the admins of this site, maybe even that FreedomOfSpeech character from a while back, might have done a WHOIS lookup for credibility, along with mentioning the suspicious name change, and then proceeded to try and hurt this forum via their insidious lies.

Besides, I have hardly any money to steal, no credit cards or anything, and they couldn't get access to it from what I've provided here. I'm careful on the Internet of that sort of thing anyway.

I'm actually a member of the webmaster forum that the message linked to, Digital Point. And I was just talking about them here a couple days ago.

Maybe the disgruntled PM writer saw it and worked it into part of the conspiracy theory.
