Heck, I am bemused by myself for having such a violent reaction to her, since it's so irrational...

That would be the murder of her fiance when she was 19. It also talks about how she has exaggerated that incident to boister her own image. What a wonderful way to respect the memory of a loved one. I don't think she has a grain of personal integrity.

This thread was inspired by the "Dr. Phucking Phil" thread off of INTP Central. It's just so darn easy to hate those over the top TV personalities.

I'm amused by them both. If I take them seriously, Nancy Grace seems mean-spirited to me, but Dr. Phucking Phil just seems brusque. I like his homegrown metaphors.

I can't stand her or Coulter. The 'Mouth that roared', both of them.

    Edit: Can't stand Phil either.

I rarely turn on CNN, but the last time I went there I saw a commericial for Lockheed Martin in the middle of the Iraq war coverage. Somehow I can't believe it's impartial reporting.

In the gym, there is a bank of TVs suspended from the ceiling, and some are turned to CNN, so I end up watching the channel (with subcaptions) sometimes while I work the bikes.

Just two days ago I was watching, and it did a clip of John Edwards' daughter, who apparently has sided with her mom in disagreeing with her father over the issue of gay marriage. (I am assuming the mom and daughter are against it? I don't know, it never said.)

Everything else was captioned, but when she went to speak, they turned off the captioning and didn't put ANY words up on the screen, they stopped subcaptioning and it just showed her talking for 30-45 seconds or more. And she wasn't even directly facing the camera, it was a terrible angle.

What bothered me was that: (1) Either what she said was being purposefully dropped out of the coverage (for what reason?) or (2) they failed to get a good feed of her comments... but still ran the "story" anyway just because of its sensational nature (Oooh, mother/daughter publicly disagree with presidential candidate's stance!) without ANY content whatsoever.

It really bothered me, because it was such an obvious omission. And of course, now it's come up in conversation that others have some issues with CNN. (I don't watch news TV very often.)

As much as I hate CNN, it still doesn't compare to the propaganda they put out on FOX.

LMAO, that is so true. I loved it when the Simpson's had the Fox News Bus have a Bush/Cheney banner on it in one of their episodes!

By the way I can't stand Nancy Grace! There is another guy on there who is a lot like Nancy Grace only a little less manly, lol, I forget his name but he has his own hour or 30 minutes of a show like thing for himself just like her.

I like the BBC news and some of CNN but mostly online because I like international news and they have a site dedicated to just that.

How you can say such things about Bill O'Reilly, I'll never know.

I think it's funny when people complain about the bias of certain news stations (typically the ones that don't share their affiliation) as if all media isn't biased.
