Actually, I want to be banned. Please ban me because I can't stop myself. There is something unhealthy about it for me, but I can't keep myself from coming here. It disrupts my relationships and helps keep me from being productive and sane. It stirs up all sorts of things I hate about myself. I'm getting sick of this fucking forum. And I am already sick of myself.

Well, part of the bs is from the understandable human need to vent against people who side with people who demeaned them. Then random parts jealousy, plain ol' mob mentality, rabid attention whoring and just regular old insanity.

Sorry can't quote, on a train.

OneWithSoul? I believe he said he understood why Jack was banned. No one else said he shouldn't be banned expressly. I think a lot of the criticism is just as biased as the support.

Also, I saw plenty of people take swipes at Jack.

Since I got a few panicked PMs/reps about it I feel the need to point out that I was totally kidding about Haight reading your PMs. I thought everybody knew about that old chestnut. Every once in awhile somebody goes conspiracy-sniffing and pulls it out, but the fact is that nobody can read your PMs but you and the people you send them to.

If anyone understands why Jack was banned, what is left to be said by them?

What was said, i.e. he is missed and some of us liked him. I completely agree with Ina's last post.

... man, I think I need to be banned too.

Because he touched a nerve. He exposed the nerve of the site. He was showing us what the site is about. But we don't want to know what the site is about. We just don't want to know.

It would be enough for us to discover what this site is about. But would it stop here? What if we went on to discover what you and I are about? No, far better to put a stop to it all right here. After all, it is a small sacrifice to ban one member - particularly as we do it for the most rational of reasons. We sacrifice one member so the rest may live - or at least live in uneasy silence.

But do not think we are lacking in sentiment. No, we have raised not one but two memorial threads to remember our fallen comrade, Jack Flack. Lest we forget.

I feel like you're not even hearing the business about how many disturbingly personal attacks he wielded, both on viewable threads or behind the scenes through quiet reps. No one is trying to argue his good qualities. He has a lot of good qualities. But his bad ones are (a) unhealthy and (b) hurtful.
