Same here! I wish people would just SHUT UP about how a woman's "supposed" to look at 50 (or 30, or 14, WHATEVER...). I personally think Madonna's gone WAY overboard on the exercising (she's so driven and takes everything to the nth degree anyway), and no, it's not attractive. I don't even like men that ripped. However, I cannot calmly tolerate the criticism and scrutiny women are subjected to, esp after a certain age. It's not fair. And I find most women's magazines to be pages and pages of anxiety and overcompensation. Do I want to look my best at any age? You bet! Do I want to freak out every day? NO.

So after doing some reading and looking at some pictures, she apparently has been doing too much strength training and doesn't have enough meat on her bones to hide her veins. That's too bad. I think a balanced look would be more becoming. She's going to be 51 next month.

I'm 50, and I've started some weight training, too. It's easier to lose muscle mass at this age. Not only that, but my migraine meds deteriorate my muscles, so I have to combat that with exercise. But being too skinny is probably not something I'll ever have to worry about. In Madonna's line of work though, being skinny is expected. I mean, I did see the Devil wears Prada.
