I knew it was probably some kind of off-color joke, but I couldn't figure it out. Whew! I guess I'm fine then.

Heh. I thought I was going to see pics of nickers/panties, too.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Don't feel bad. At best, I could only guess "nicotene" -- i.e., cigarettes. The knickers thing flew right by me.

What I thought: rhymes with "bits."
Relationships have normal ebbs and flows. They do not automatically get better and better when the participants learn more and more about each other. Instead, the participants have to work through the tensions of the relationship (the dialectic) while they learn and group themselves and a parties in a relationships. At times the relationships is very open and sharing. Other time, one or both parties to the relationship need their space, or have other concerns, and the relationship is less open. The theory posits that these cycles occur throughout the life of the relationship as the persons try to balance their needs for privacy and open relationship.

Yip, the right place for the fluff zone, unless it was a "hollywood"...

So if nics are panties, what are "gams"?

Dunno what the Brits use the word for, but it's also American Prohibition-era slang for "legs."

Proposed usernames for a vain couple: IM26E4U and IMAQT2.

My favorite username on this site, with the avatar adding to the appeel [sic], is meanlittlechimp. I appreciate the name even more whenever I read a serious, thoughtful post from the sharp-dressed, gun-toting chimp.

Though not directly related, brings to mind a quote by Robert Wilensky:

"We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true."

I didn't say that I didn't say it. I said that I didn't say that I said it. I want to make that very clear.

Oh yes, I do like Meanlittlechimp too, the avatar matches lol.

Speaking of which a friend of mine on another site is called "Psycho Bunny" and this is his avatar:

Lol, it serves as a constant reminder to him to not be so rude.
