More to the point, could you ask for directions there without rupturing something, Mr Dutchman?

Nice Dutch by the way - at least I can only suppose it is! I remember when I was in Amsterdam surrounded by Dutch people they would all come up and start talking to me in English without having a clue who I was. Is there some secret visual system for Dutch people to identify each other, does this signify something about Amsterdamers in particular, or is there just a general tendency to assume that any stranger you meet won't speak Dutch until proven otherwise?

Odd, sometimes people I meet that aren't dutch are pretty obvious, but not always. Maybe you just have that kinda vibe.

As for asking directions. I'm blessed with a good sense of direction so hope it won't come to that. :P

There are some people on here with some seriously enchanting voices, wow. I already knew this, as some are on Ventrillo, but it's awesome to hear the others.

Hello people... Talking in myself is extremely annoying, it's much easier to talk with someone. Here's some dutch for ya.

Hahaha! When i moved to QLD a few years ago (the Gold Coast no less, soulless tanned armpit of the country... nice beaches though...) you would not believe how many people asked where i came from, when replying Adelaide they would then counter with "Yes, but where were you born, you don't sound Australian". or "How long have you lived in Australia?"... ummm my whole life?

i actually couldn't fathom an Aussie accent like Steve Irwin's until i lived in Queensland...

Terrible things happen to good people every day.
Consequentially, I am not one of the good people.
I am one of the terrible things.
